Private Learning Center locates in Queens is currently looking for Grade 1 to SHSAT, SAT level

Summer English / Math Tutor / Instructor
part-time
Summer Program: July 1st -- August 14th,2026

POSITION DESCRIPTION

English Instructors (Grade 1 -- Grade 6, SHSAT, SAT)
Math Instructors (Grade 1 -- Grade 6,SHSAT, SAT)

Monday -- Friday from 9am -- 12 pm OR 1:00-4:00pm OR 9-4PM

RESPONSIBILITIES
- To plan and deliver lessons that are appropriate to a summer school environment
- To ensure and maintain proper levels of student discipline, welfare and safety of all students during the program
- To ensure that all teaching sessions are adequately prepared for
- To complete course reports for all students
- To prepare weekly examinations and course reports are submitted in a timely manner

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Great classroom management skills and positive energy
Strength in reading/writing/reading comprehension; Math strategies
Professional/responsible and enjoy working with children
Preferred to be NYS certified, or in related teaching subjects.
Demonstrates diplomacy, patience, and flexibility which are essential when working with young children
Ability to work with a positive attitude and effectively as part of a dynamic team
Proven organizational skills with the ability to work under pressure and adapt to change

***SHSAT/SAT Verbal or Math Teacher***
-Students are grouped in a class according to ability. SHSAT Class will be comprised of current 7th, 8th and 9th graders and SAT is for 9th to 12th graders.
-Responsible for teaching the Verbal or Math curriculum of SHSAT/SAT to students.

Qualifications:
*Must have a minimum of a BA or a BS. Bachelor degrees in Education, English, Math Journalism, Philosophy, Psychology, Fine Arts or Liberal Arts a plus.
* Prior teaching experience in the NYC SHSAT and SAT is preferred.
* Familiar with the structure of both the SAT and the NYC SHSAT.
*Good classroom management skills, presentation, professionalism, and enthusiasm are required.
*Able to communicate effectively and break down difficult concepts for students.
*Ability to utilize and employ various modes of teaching/instruction.
