Job Title: RN – Labor & Delivery

Duration: Contract - 14 Weeks

Role Summary

A healthcare organization is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for the Labor & Delivery unit. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive care to mothers and newborns, support labor and delivery procedures, and ensure a safe and positive patient experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to patients during labor, delivery, and postpartum stages.
• Monitor maternal and fetal health, recognizing and responding to complications.
• Assist physicians and midwives during delivery procedures.
• Administer medications, including those used for conscious sedation when applicable.
• Perform IV insertions and phlebotomy.
• Educate patients and families on childbirth, recovery, and newborn care.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 2 years of Maternal and Child health experience.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in IV insertion and phlebotomy.
• Minimum 2 years of experience with conscious sedation.

Education

• Required: Associate’s Degree (ASN or ADN) from an accredited nursing program.
• Preferred: Not specified

Certifications & Licensure

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) License – State of New York.
• License verification through NYS Department of Education (NYSED).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association (AHA).
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – American Heart Association (AHA).
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification.

Language Requirement

• English (Read, Write, Speak)

• Minimum Degree Required: Associate’s Degree (Community College or equivalent).
