Registered Nurse - School Nurse

Artemis Healthcare Partners is seeking a dedicated and passionate professional to join our client's team!

Position Name: School Nurse (RN)
Location: Rochester, NY
Employment Type: Direct-Hire & Permanent
Setting: School
Pay: $34-$38/hr+ (depending on education and experience)
Shift: Mon-Fri | 35 or 40 hours | Start at 7am or 8:30am

Qualifications:
Required:
- NY State RN License
- 6+ months RN experience
- BLS Certification
- Must work Summer School

Preferred:
- Experience in a fast-paced setting, such as ED.
- Developmental disabilities or psych-focused care experience, or personal passion for helping patients with developmental disabilities.

Job Summary:
- Maintain accurate health information files for all students, documenting daily nursing consultations.
- Conduct regular physical examinations to assess student health status as needed.
- Assist Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) when requested or as assigned.
- Administer prescribed medications to students according to their primary care physician's orders.
- Obtain and keep updated medication orders and parent permissions for student medications.
- Manage the medicine cabinet, ensuring it contains approved medications, supplies, and equipment.
- Record and process injuries for students and staff using the appropriate accident/incident forms.
- Train staff on Health and Safety Procedures and conduct necessary reviews.
- Implement emergency medical procedures, delegating tasks to the LPN in crisis situations.
- Administer immunizations and TB screenings as directed by the Medical Director and document findings.
