Global Segment Manager - Soy Herbicides

Position Overview:

In this role, you will be at the forefront of developing and driving the global herbicide segment strategy for selective and HT enabling herbicides for soy and cotton. You will manage the product portfolio and pipeline, collaborating with cross-functional asset teams to maximize portfolio value and profitability. Your leadership will be crucial in overseeing the implementation and target achievement for the soy HER portfolio, including exploring new business opportunities and licensing with third parties across regions. You will play a pivotal role in life cycle management projects, market monitoring, and financial planning, ensuring alignment with global crop and product managers. Additionally, you will define segment-specific research targets and propose strategic M&A targets, divestments, and licensing agreements.

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and drive the global herbicide segment strategy for selective and HT enabling herbicides for soy and cotton;

  • Manage the product portfolio and pipeline by leading and co-creating with cross-functional asset teams, including Regions/key Countries, Crop Managers, and key functions like CP R&D, Regulatory, Product Supply, and Legal;

  • Oversee implementation and target achievement for the soy HER portfolio, including new business opportunities and licensing with third parties across regions;

  • Actively decide with asset teams on Life Cycle Management projects and be accountable for project steering of LCM and formulation development projects;

  • Monitor market and competitors, identify future trends, and provide long-term planning assumptions for the segment;

  • Prepare financial plans for the segment, including net sales, gross profit, and relevant investments;

  • Align segment strategies with global crop and product managers, driving trade-off decisions within and across crops and indications;

  • Define segment-specific research targets and future product concepts based on prioritized research targets for CP;

  • Proactively propose M&A targets, divestments, cooperation, and licensing agreements, and contribute to relevant M&A processes.

WHO YOU ARE:

Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

  • University degree in agriculture and/or business with in-market experience in the agriculture industry for Seeds and Traits and CP business;

  • Profound technical, agricultural, and/or business knowledge;

  • Strong multifunctional and multicultural project lead experience, with experience in Strategy Role(s) like Crop or Asset Management being a plus;

  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken;

  • Excellent presentation, collaboration, drive, and informal leadership skills demonstrated in complex environments.

Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $178,880 - $268,320. Additional compensation may include a bonus or incentive compensation (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc.. This salary range is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant's location, market data/ranges, an applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
