Shift Schedule:
● Monday – Thursday: 11:20 AM – 5:50 PM
● Friday Shifts (staff will be assigned one of the two shifts and must be available for either shift):
○ Shift 1: 7:30 AM – 1:30 PM
○ Shift 2: 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Salary Range: $20-25/hr

Job Overview:
GINYC is looking for passionate, enthusiastic, and dynamic part-time Program Specialists to join our team for a seasonal summer enrichment program aimed at engaging middle school students (grades 6-8). The Program Specialist will work directly with students, facilitating an entrepreneurship-centered curriculum and supporting their social-emotional learning (SEL), creativity, and community-building skills. This position requires a commitment to creating an engaging, inclusive, and positive learning environment while ensuring students are fully engaged in program activities.
Please note: This is a seasonal position, and the candidate must be available to work from June 15, 2026 – August 7, 2026.
Key Responsibilities:
● Lead and facilitate a variety of program activities focused on entrepreneurship, SEL, creative arts, physical movement, and community building.
● Ensure activities are engaging, fostering a strong, smart, and bold mindset among participants.
● Experience in running clubs focused on dance, sports, theater, or STEM will be an asset.
● Use existing curricula related to business and entrepreneurship, ensuring students gain practical knowledge in these areas.
● Foster positive relationships with students, creating a safe, supportive environment that promotes growth and engagement.
● Ensure that activities run smoothly, with students actively participating and maintaining a calm, productive classroom environment.
● Develop and implement engaging lessons and activities to enhance the student experience and meet their developmental needs.
● Maintain accurate attendance records and ensure students are present and accounted for during program hours.
● Work closely with other staff and the program leadership team to ensure the success of the program and foster a cohesive team environment.
● Demonstrate professionalism in all aspects of the role, including communication with students, families, and team members.
● Maintain excellent time management and adhere to the program schedule.
Qualifications:
● High School Diploma required. Associate's degree or some college coursework in education, psychology, or a related field preferred.
● Experience working with middle school-aged youth (grades 6-8), preferably in a camp, after-school, or educational setting.
● Strong facilitation skills, with the ability to engage and inspire youth in both group and one-on-one settings.
● Familiarity with, or willingness to learn about, entrepreneurship, business, and financial literacy topics.
● Ability to manage a classroom and facilitate group activities effectively.
● Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
● Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently.
● Commitment to being a positive role model for youth.
● Ability to work flexible hours and be available for either morning or afternoon shifts (Monday through Friday).
● Bilingual or multilingual skills are a plus (but not required).
● Must be available for the entire seasonal period (June 15, 2026 – August 7, 2026).
