Hybrid work schedule available, up to 50% telework depending on business needs. Telework can be outside of the state of Minnesota if the candidate lives in a state bordering Minnesota and lives 50 miles or less from the primary work location. Primary work location will be the Golden Rule Building in St. Paul.

The purpose of this position is to conduct analyses and provide technical support for positions of the Minnesota Department of Commerce on rate design, rate of return, cost recovery methods/policies, energy conservation, resource planning, distribution planning and modeling, transportation electrification planning, service policies, forecasting, renewable energy, carbon modelling, carbon capture, or carbon markets; or environmental attributes, regional/federal activities, and other issues in gas and electric utility matters under the direction of a lead worker, project manager, or management.
Two (2) years of experience performing analysis, exercising judgment, and relying on knowledge in: Economic Analysis; Public Policy; Statistical Analysis; Modeling and Forecasting Complex Systems; Utility Rate Design/Analysis; Energy Regulation; Carbon Modeling; Carbon Capture; Carbon Markets; or Environmental Attributes.
A Bachelor's degree in Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Business, Public Policy, Environmental Policy, Energy Policy, Planning/Regional Studies, Pre-Law, or a related field is equivalent to one (1) year of experience.
An Advanced degree in Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Business, Public Policy, Environmental Policy, Energy Policy, Planning/Regional Studies, Law, or a related field is equivalent to eighteen (18) months of experience.
