Position DescriptionTitle:Core Faculty Member - Doctor of
Physical Therapy Program
Department: DPT Program
Purpose: The Core Faculty member in the
Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program is responsible for contributing to the academic, clinical, and scholarly mission of the program.
This role includes teaching, scholarship, service, and active participation in program assessment and continuous improvement. Core faculty
members are essential to ensuring program quality, student success, and compliance with accreditation standards established by the
Commission on
Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE).
Primary Responsibilities: Teaching
and Instruction
- Teach assigned courses across the DPT curriculum, including didactic, laboratory, and/or clinical components.
- Utilize evidence-informed, contemporary practice and student-centered teaching methodologies.
- Assess student learning and
provide timely, constructive feedback.
- Participate in curriculum design, development, and revision.
- Develop and
annually review course syllabi, update as appropriate.
- Develop course materials with integration of online resources.

Request necessary course equipment, materials, and/or supplies.
- Supervise and coordinate course adjuncts.
- Complete and
return final grades within program deadlines.
- Participate in course assessment and evaluation.
- Update course content,
teaching methods, and materials as needed.
- Seek annual training for online instructional teaching methods.
- Participate
in advising program.
- Maintain regular virtual office hours.
Scholarship
- Engage in a sustained agenda of
scholarly activity consistent with CAPTE expectations.

Required
Qualifications:- Clinical doctorate with advanced training (e.g., OCS, GCS) or earned academic doctoral degree (e.g.,
PhD, EdD, DSc).
- Licensed or eligible for licensure as a physical therapist in Oklahoma.
- Demonstrated expertise in a
relevant area of physical therapy practice.
- Evidence of teaching effectiveness or potential for excellence in teaching.
- 3 or more years of clinical experience.
Preferred Qualifications- Record of scholarly activity
consistent with CAPTE expectations.
- Board certification or specialization in a clinical area.
- Prior experience in
physical therapist education including online instruction.
- Experience with curriculum development and program assessment.
- ABPTS specialization in a discipline appropriate for teaching responsibilities or certification credentials appropriate for his/her
teaching responsibilities.

- Full-time, 12-month appointment with responsibilities across teaching, scholarship, and service.
- Active engagement in program governance and institutional initiatives.
- Compliance with all institutional policies and
accreditation standards.
- Strong computer skills and adaptability in learning new software/online platforms.
- Excellent
verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to build successful relationships with students and faculty.

Reporting Structure
- Reports to the Program Director of the DPT Program.
Setting and
Special Requirements:- Remote 1.0 FTE faculty position, rank commensurate with
experience.
- Some on-campus presence is required, especially during intensive on-campus components of the program and to meet
leadership expectations.
