Office Location: This position is assigned to our office located at 84th & O St, Lincoln, NE.

Pay Grade 7: $30.597/hour ($30.979/hour after pay structure increases on June 29, 2026)

This rate is based upon available budget funds; any offer will be made at this rate.

Essential Functions

  • Monitors the helpdesk including troubleshooting and providing technical assistance with basic hardware and software issues, as well as network services.
  • Maintains and utilizes Mobile Desktop Management solution for software and computer deployment, and provides technology onboarding and offboarding for users, and installs hardware and software.
  • Maintains inventory of computers, monitors, and mobile devices, including preparing computer equipment for surplus, and receiving and deploying new computer equipment and software.
  • Supports training regarding hardware and software, develops and maintains user documentation, and assists with development and delivery of training.
  • Manages Identity Access Management and team collaboration platform (e.g., SharePoint, Teams, local drive) accounts to ensure secure and appropriate network, file, and application access.
  • Facilitates daily backup operations; monitors job success, troubleshoots failures, completes routine maintenance, and assists with client installs while maintaining compliance with backup policies and audit needs.
  • Analyzes and monitors system and network performance, including reviewing system logs and reports related to OneDrive synchronization and other system metrics. Reports and manages system disk space.
  • Serves as liaison with hardware and software maintenance vendors to assist with procurement.
  • Services and repairs equipment in Nebraska Department of Education (NDE) conference rooms and boardroom.
  • Installs hardware and software products on the server.

Working Conditions and Travel:

This position requires approximately 98% of work time spent in an office environment; the remaining 2% is spent traveling or working in alternative sites such as off-site office locations and meetings. There is no expected overnight travel.

Requirements / Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate degree in a related field such as computer science, computer engineering, or management information systems. Any equivalent education and\or work experience may be substituted in order to meet the minimum qualifications of the position

Preferred Qualifications:

Associate degree and at least one year of experience, or high school diploma and at least three years of experience providing customer service and supporting Microsoft OS, with some Mac OS experience. Experience supporting variety of hardware and peripherals, and working with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Docs, and Adobe Software.
