Material Coordinator, Inspector Lead (PPO)

AFO is looking for a Material Coordinator, Inspector Lead to work in Fort Sill, OK. The Material Coordinator, Inspector Lead (PPO) is a Quality Assurance Inspector responsible for ensuring Transportation Service Providers (TSPs) perform household goods shipment services in compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) regulations, including DOD 4500.9-R, Part IV. This position supports quality assurance operations for both domestic and international shipments, ensuring compliance, accountability, and a high level of customer satisfaction. Responsibilities

  • In the Supervisor's absence, the Material Coordinator Inspector Lead will serve as the designated backup and assume the Supervisor's duties.

  • The Material Coordinator Inspector Lead will provide briefings to Service Members as needed, including Peak Season, Claims, Fort Sill Facts, and any other briefings the Supervisor is unable to attend.

  • Conduct quality assurance inspections of TSP operations, including packing, loading, and delivery of household goods.

  • Monitor compliance with DoD regulations, Defense Personal Property System (DPS), and contractual requirements.

  • Complete required inspection documentation (e.g., DD Form 1780) and maintain accurate case files.

  • Identify service deficiencies and recommend corrective actions, including issuance of warning notices.

  • Track and document customer complaints and TSP performance trends.

  • Perform on-site inspections at origin and destination locations.

  • Ensure proper packing methods and materials meet required standards outlined in the Tender of Service.

  • Observe TSP personnel to ensure professionalism, safety, and compliance with policies.

  • Assist in resolving disputes between customers and service providers.

  • Coordinate with government personnel and stakeholders to support mission requirements.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in transportation, household goods movement, or inspection-related work.

  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.

  • Mission-oriented and customer service-oriented mindset.

  • Ability to pass Pre-Employment Drug Test and Background Screening.

  • Ability to receive a favorable TIER-1 Investigation result and obtain and maintain a CAC.

  • Applicant must possess a REAL ID-compliant, state-issued driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Eligible incumbent in good standing is highly desirable.

  • Experience in a DoD Personal Property Office (PPO/PPPO).

  • Familiarity with ETOPS, DPS, and personal property shipment processes.

  • Prior military or government logistics experience.

  • Experience in quality assurance or inspection roles.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of DoD 4500.9-R and personal property shipment regulations.

  • Familiarity with systems such as DPS and Syncada (PowerTrack).

  • Working knowledge of DoD personal property shipment regulations and Joint Travel Regulations (JTR).

  • Proficiency in systems such as ETOPS and DPS.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies.

  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to clearly explain complex policies and entitlements to customers.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in processing documentation.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, independently and manager multiple priorities.

  • Ability to multitask, manage time effectively, and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.

  • Effective problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.

Physical Demands:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, and listen.

  • The employee may use repeated motions that include the arms, wrists, hands, and fingers.

  • The employee is occasionally required to walk, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch.

  • The employee must occasionally lift and or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
