Job Overview

LKL is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Litigation Paralegal to join our dynamic legal

team. The successful candidate will provide essential support to our attorneys throughout

all phases of the litigation process, from case inception through trial and post-trial

proceedings. This role is ideal for a proactive professional with at least two years of

dedicated litigation experience who can thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven

environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Case Management: Organize and manage case files (both physical and electronic),ensuring all documents and correspondence are accurately maintained and easily accessible.
  • Document Drafting & Filing: Draft, proofread, and prepare legal documents including pleadings, motions, discovery requests/responses, and subpoenas for attorney review.
  • Discovery Assistance: Assist with the discovery process, including organizing and summarizing discovery documents, depositions, and witness statements.
  • Legal Research: Conduct thorough legal and factual research using resources, such as Westlaw or LexisNexis, and summarize findings for attorneys.
  • Trial Preparation: Coordinate trial logistics, prepare trial exhibits and binders, and provide on-site support during hearings, arbitrations, mediations, and trials.
  • Communication: Maintain professional communication with clients, witnesses, opposing counsel, and court staff, gathering information and scheduling meetings/depositions/court appearances.
  • Deadline Management: Manage litigation calendars, track deadlines for filings and appearances, and ensure compliance with all court rules and procedures (local, state, and federal).
  • Billing: Accurately track and enter billable hours.
  • Required Qualifications and Skills
  • Experience: Minimum of 3+ years of experience as a litigation paralegal preferred.
  • Education: Paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program or an Associate/Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies or a related field (preferred).
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with legal research databases (Westlaw, LexisNexis) and case management software/eDiscovery platforms.
  • Organizational Skills: Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational and time management abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple priorities and tight deadlines.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Work Style: Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team, demonstrating professionalism and discretion with confidential information.
