Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide exceptional care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities, aging needs, or health challenges. Location: Lansford, PA
Duties
- Assist individuals with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment such as Hoyer lifts or transfer belts
- Monitor and record vital signs, observe patient behavior, and report any changes or concerns to healthcare professionals
- Prepare nutritious meals aligned with dietary plans and assist with feeding when necessary
- Provide medication administration following HIPAA guidelines and care plans to ensure safety and compliance
- Support clients during recreational activities, community outings, or social events to promote engagement and independence
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning client areas, laundry, and organizing supplies
- Document care activities accurately in compliance with HIPAA regulations and agency policies
Qualifications
- Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care environments is highly preferred
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques, dementia care (including Alzheimer's and memory care), and working with individuals with autism or disabilities
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely and assist with transfers using Hoyer lifts or other mobility aids
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with team members, clients, families, and healthcare providers
- Demonstrated patience, compassion, and a positive attitude towards supporting vulnerable populations
- Experience in caring for seniors or individuals requiring hospice or long-term care is advantageous
