Operations Specialist - KS
JOB DIMENSIONS:
Job Summary:
Under general supervision, the Operations Specialist will assist in sales, manufacturing, warehousing, shipping, and supply chain operations, contributing towards improving ESI and ESI Fab Systems operational efficiencies. This is a very hands-on role and is expected to provide active leadership, not just in project-related activities, but also in day-to-day operations, and perform other duties as assigned.

Examples of Duties and Responsibilities:
Facilitating and driving a broad array of continuous improvement activities at the ESI/ESI Fab System location. This role will also act as a resource for the broader national Cla-Val organization, supporting both ESI Operations, as well as broader corporate coordination and communication.
- ESI Operational Responsibilities Include:
- Warehousing – to include Cycle Counts, Inventory Accuracy, Timely System Transactions
- WIP Management – to include timely and accurate production support
- Shipping and Receiving Oversight
- Accurate Order Entry
- Coordination with ESI Service Team
- Will Call Coordination
- System Training to Kansas City Staff
- Forecasting and Inventory Allocation Management
- National Corporate Coordination/Communication Responsibilities Include:
- Coordination with Corporate Purchasing to include creation of Purchase Requisitions, communicating vendor/material requirements that are unique to the Kansas City Operations, and Supply Chain Coordination;
- Coordination with National Sales Team to include timely execution of the EPS Quoting Process by supporting the North American sales team, managing the EPS@esiwater.com inquiry portal, ensuring the timely and accurate creation of Bills of Materials along with realistic manufacturing lead time expectations; accurate Order Entry, and regular communication with Corporate Inside/Outside Sales;
- Identifying process inefficiencies and sources of loss, and coordinate/facilitate activities using cross-functional resources to eliminate them;
- Drive change and be comfortable working with all levels within the organization;
- Work to abolish the status quo; must be a strong communicator;
- Drive the standardization of processes and the implementation of best practices;
- Regular punctuality, attendance, and absence reporting in conformance with company policies is essential to the successful performance of this position, and
- Fully comply with company rules, policies, procedures, and safety guidelines to ensure safe and effective operations.
QUALIFICATIONS GUIDELINES:
Any combination equivalent of, but not limited to, the following:
Experience/Training/Education:
Equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree in Communications or a Business-related field; Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an operations capacity, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Have the technical capacity to manage ESI projects to completion;
- Ability to maintain an appropriate balance between short-term business delivery and longer-term strategic priorities.
- Ability to appropriately manage time;
- Ability to plan, organize, and schedule work, and determine priorities;
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing;
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with company management, sales, office and warehouse personnel, engineers, distributors, end-users, contractors, represented companies’ personnel, and governmental representatives;
- Ability to operate a computer and use applicable software programs;
- Tactical and Strategic Thinking to facilitate implementing change; and
- Ability to think critically
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Forklift Certification
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to bend, stoop, reach, stretch, lift, move, and carry materials and products;
- Ability to perform essential functions of the job, as defined;
