CNC Machinist

Job Description

We are seeking an elite CNC Machinist with a minimum of 3–5 years of experience in high-precision industries such as semiconductors, aerospace, or medical devices to lead the end-to-end fabrication of ultra-high-precision IDT tooling. This technical role demands much more than basic operation; you will solve complex geometric puzzles and push the limits of modern multi-axis equipment to maintain micron-level tolerances where quality is paramount. The ideal candidate possesses a high school diploma and a proven track record of producing zero-defect parts in ISO-certified environments, supported by a mastery of GD&T, shop mathematics, blueprint reading, and a deep understanding of material-specific cutting tool geometries.

salary: $60,000 - $65,000 per year
shift: First
work hours: 7 AM - 3 PM
education: High School

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

1. Setup & Operation

  • Perform complex machine setups, including selecting and installing proper cutting tools, attachments, and fixtures.

  • Operate 3, 4, or 5-axis CNC machines to produce intricate parts from materials like titanium, Kovar, stainless steel, or specialized plastics.

  • Load feed mechanisms and monitor machine cycles to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining.

2. Programming & Optimization

  • Interpret blueprints, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) symbols, and 3D CAD models.

  • Perform "at-machine" programming using G-code/M-code or edit existing CAM programs (Mastercam, Fusion 360, etc.) to optimize tool paths and cycle times.

  • Adjust machine speeds and feeds based on material properties and tool wear.

3. Quality Control & Inspection

  • Conduct first-article inspections and periodic in-process checks.

  • Use precision measuring instruments including micrometers, calipers, optical comparators, and CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machines).

  • Document quality findings and maintain traceability logs for audit purposes.

4. Maintenance & Safety

  • Perform routine preventative maintenance on equipment (checking coolant levels, lubrication, and chip removal).

  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace (5S standards) and strictly adhere to PPE and safety protocols.
