Part-Time School Aide
Father John V. Doyle School is seeking a caring, dependable, and energetic Part-Time School Aide to support our youngest learners. This role is essential to fostering a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment while working closely with the lead teacher.
The School Aide provides instructional, behavioral, and classroom support to students and assists the lead teacher in implementing daily lessons, routines, and activities. This role requires patience, flexibility, and a genuine love for working with young children.
- Assist students with academic tasks in literacy, early math, and classroom activities
- Support social-emotional development and model positive behavior
- Help maintain a safe, structured, and nurturing classroom environment
- Provide supervision during transitions, recess, lunch, and dismissal
- Prepare and organize classroom materials, supplies, and learning centers
- Support small group instruction and individualized learning activities
- Reinforce lessons introduced by the lead teacher
- Assist with classroom management and maintaining routines
- Work under the direct supervision and direction of the lead teacher, following all instructional plans and classroom procedures
- Maintain consistency in expectations, language, and behavior management strategies established by the teacher
- Communicate effectively and respectfully with teachers, staff, and administration
- Uphold confidentiality and professionalism at all times
- Support the mission and values of Father John V. Doyle School
- Model kindness, respect, and positive interactions with students and colleagues
- Assist with school events and activities as needed
- Prior experience working with young children (PK–early elementary preferred)
- High school diploma required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in education or related field preferred
- Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills
- Ability to take direction, show initiative, and adapt to classroom needs
- A positive, patient, and nurturing demeanor
- A practicing Catholic who upholds the teachings and expectations of the Catholic Church or a Non-Catholic candidate who demonstrates respect for and willingness to support the mission and teachings of the Catholic faith.
