Terms of Employment: Regular, full-time 12-month position, with university benefit package. Located at the J. R. Holder Wellness Center on the Alva Campus.
Duties and Responsibilities: Responsible for assisting the director in day-to-day operations of the Wellness Center, including management of all employees, equipment and facilities. Requires a strong commitment to working with and orientating members from the community, NWOSU employees and students. Responsible for supervising approximately 25 employees including student workers, personal trainers, massage therapists and exercise class instructors. Teach 10 hours each semester in the Health and Sports Science Education department. Advise students in HSSE to successfully complete their degree. Responsible for planning, organizing, and overseeing recreational sports programs for students. This role includes scheduling leagues and tournaments, managing facilities and equipment, hiring and training student staff, enforcing rules and safety standards, and promoting participation across campus.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and experience in the field of health and/or physical education required. Earned master’s degree including 18 hours in the field of health and/or physical education or related field is required or significant progress toward a master’s degree with intent to finish is required. Requires certification in First Aid, CPR, AED and must have strong computer skills. A basic knowledge of health, fitness and exercise is required. Maintenance of confidentiality is important.
