The Iowa Economic Development Authority (IEDA) and Iowa Finance Authority (IFA) are seeking a high-performingSocial Media Managerwho thrives at the intersection of creativity, innovation and strategy.
The IEDA | IFA Social Media Manager will lead a dynamic, integrated social strategy that elevates Iowa on a national stage while strengthening high-profile communications across a wide range of programs and initiatives, including business and community development, housing and more.
You'll lead and manage a robust influencer and content creator program, build campaigns that resonate, and use data to continuously refine and elevate performance. Your work will showcase high-impact programs across IEDA | IFA, supporting business development and talent attraction, helping first-time homebuyers achieve their goals, and positioning Iowa as a destination where communities and businesses flourish.

About this Opportunity
As our Social Media Manager, you'll oversee and elevate IEDA | IFA's presence across social media channels. You'll balance storytelling with strategy, creating content that informs, engages, and inspires.
Key responsibilities include:
Developing and executing a data-driven social media strategy aligned with agency goals, marketing priorities, and statewide initiatives
Creating and publishing compelling social content: short-form video, graphics, copy, interactive posts, and live content on all agency social media platforms, including but not limited to LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, Youtube and X.
Managing organic, paid, influencer, and user-generated content to strengthen brand awareness and engagement
Serving as IEDA | IFA's voice in social spaces, engaging thoughtfully with supporters, partners, businesses, and the public
Building and managing influencer and brand ambassador programs
Partnering with vendors and internal teams to implement social campaigns
Measuring performance using analytics and benchmarks, and sharing insights to continuously improve strategy
Staying ahead of social media trends, tools, and best practices
Ideal candidates possess:
Experience managing organizational or brand social media accounts
Strong skills in content creation, influencer management, storytelling and brand voice management
Data-driven mindset to use analytics and performance metrics to guide strategy

The Social Media Managerposition is a non-merit, non-contract position that is classified by the State of Iowa as an Economic Development Specialist 2 and is exempt per FLSA regulations.

Minimum Qualification Requirements
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in public relations, business, journalism, marketing, or a closely related field and experience equal to two years of full-time work planning and developing content for media dissemination; or a total of six years of education and/or full-time experience, where 30 semester hours of accredited college or university coursework in a related field equals one year of full-time experience.
