AI Platform Engineer

Job Description

Insight Global is seeking an AI Platform Engineer for a top enterprise client operating at the intersection of cloud infrastructure and AI-driven software delivery. In this individual contributor role, you will own and evolve the DevOps and AI development platform, evaluating AI-generated applications for production readiness while refactoring and hardening existing codebases to meet enterprise security, scalability, and compliance standards. In addition to improving AI-generated work, you will design and build new agentic AI agents, platforms, and internal tools that enable reliable, scalable AI-assisted development. You will identify and remediate vulnerabilities, enhance or replace AI-generated test suites with production-grade coverage, and build and support AI development pipelines and agentic systems end to end. The role also involves documenting recurring AI code failure patterns, contributing to internal knowledge bases, collaborating closely with platform engineers, architects, and application teams, and providing guidance on the responsible and effective use of AI development tools.

Pay rate: $80-$85/hr

Skills and Requirements

• 5+ years of full-stack software development experience

• Proficiency in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript and one of the following frontend frameworks React, Vue, or Angular

• Hands-on experience with AI-augmented development tools (Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or similar)

• Experience building or enhancing Agentic AI Agents

• Proven ability to identify and remediate AI-generated code failure patterns

• Backend API development, relational data modeling, and authentication systems experience

• Strong understanding of RESTful API design, database schema design, and ORM patterns

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, version control, and secrets management

• Strong knowledge of OWASP Top 10 and application security best practices - Experience building MCP servers or LLM tool-use integrations

• Hands-on experience developing agentic AI agents using Gemini/Vertex, OpenAI, Claude, or similar tools

• Deep expertise in CI/CD pipeline architecture and DevOps best practices

• Experience with API or service mesh tooling such as Kong or Kuma

• Exposure to AI-assisted development platforms such as Lovable or Cursor

• Experience with monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Dynatrace)
