Math Teacher (Grade 6)

Job Description

Job Summary:
The Mathematics Teacher will instruct middle school students in Mathematics as part of an interdisciplinary team. The teacher will cooperatively work with other classroom teachers, special services team, ad complementary subject area teachers. The teacher will be responsible for effectively teaching the curriculum to meet individual needs of students, evaluating student progress, and communicating progress to parents.
Organizational Relationship:
The Mathematics Teacher reports directly to the Building Administration.
Qualifications:
  • IIllinois State Board of Education Professional Educator Licensure appropriate to assignment
    • K-5 classroom and 6-8 content area teachers are required to maintain an ESL endorsement, or obtain it within their first two years in the district and prior to earning tenure
    • Gifted Education Seminar completed, preferred or must be willing to complete
    • Secondary (Grades 6-12) endorsement, preferred or must be willing to complete
  • Solution-focused approach to supporting the social, emotional, and academic development of all children
  • Experience working within an elementary school setting and a diverse (culturally, racially, ethnically, linguistically etc.) student population
  • Fluency in a second language, preferred

Salary:
