Civil Construction Project Manager – Sitework & Utilities

Beech Construction Services is seeking an experienced Civil Construction Project Manager to lead sitework, underground utilities, and structural concrete projects across Middle Tennessee.

This role is responsible for managing the full project lifecycle, from preconstruction and estimating through execution and closeout. We’re looking for a hands-on leader with strong experience in heavy civil construction, self-performed work, and project financial management.

What You’ll Do

Preconstruction & Estimating

  • Perform quantity takeoffs and cost estimating for grading, utilities, and concrete
  • Analyze plans, specs, and geotechnical reports
  • Lead bid efforts, subcontractor solicitation, and estimate reviews
  • Develop project schedules and phasing plans
  • Use estimating software (ProEst or similar)

Project Management

  • Manage full project lifecycle: buyout, mobilization, construction, and closeout
  • Coordinate self-performed work (earthwork, utilities, concrete)
  • Lead site logistics, scheduling, quality, and safety
  • Manage and coordinate subcontractors and vendors
  • Maintain and adjust project schedules

Financial Oversight

  • Develop and manage project budgets and cost controls
  • Review and approve invoices, pay applications, and change orders
  • Lead monthly financial reviews and forecasting

Communication & Leadership

  • Serve as the primary liaison between clients, field teams, and stakeholders
  • Lead project meetings and coordination efforts
  • Maintain strong relationships with owners, inspectors, and agencies

What We’re Looking For

  • 7+ years experience in civil construction / heavy civil / sitework
  • Proven experience managing grading, utilities, and concrete projects
  • Experience with self-performed work
  • Strong understanding of project financials, cost control, and scheduling
  • Ability to read and interpret plans, specs, and geotechnical reports
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills

Preferred (Nice to Have)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field
  • Experience with ProEst, Procore, MS Project, or similar software
  • Experience managing projects in Middle Tennessee / local market
