Job Description:Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:

The Department of Veterinary Diagnostic and Animal Production Medicine invites applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher to conduct advanced 3D organoid cultures and analyses of high-throughput genomic, transcriptomic, and proteomic datasets using open-source bioinformatics software. The successful candidate will apply bioinformatics algorithms and statistical methods to interpret, analyze, and visualize large-scale multi-omics data. Responsibilities include identifying differentially expressed genes, predicting protein-protein interactions, and evaluating functional enrichment. Additional duties include developing and utilizing bioinformatics tools and pipelines to extract biologically meaningful insights from genomic and transcriptomic data and maintaining awareness of emerging methods, tools, and advances in genomics and bioinformatics research.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

PhD in Genomics, Bioinformatics, Molecular Biology, or a related field, and advance level experience in organoid development in livestock species.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Hands-on experience with real-time PCR, including primer design and qPCR data analysis, along with strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

  • Experience developing Excel macros for data processing and familiarity with database management software for efficient data organization and retrieval

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented research environment, with excellent written and verbal communication skills demonstrated through presentation of research findings

  • Experience with statistical software packages such as SAS and R for data analysis and visualization, as well as training or experience in sequence analysis methods and bioinformatics tools
