American Leadership Academy-Blythewood is now accepting applications for Technology Teachers for the 2026-2027 academic school year. Candidates must be willing to undergo a background check.
The Technology Teacher focuses on fostering a deep understanding of various technological tools, applications, and concepts, enabling students to become proficient and responsible users of technology. Emphasizing the integration of technology into different aspects of learning, empowering students to navigate and leverage digital tools in their academic and personal lives; the Technology Teacher cultivates a culture of curiosity and exploration while shaping a generation of informed and responsible digital citizens.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Design and implement a technology curriculum that aligns with state and national standards, focusing on digital literacy, coding, software applications, and emerging technologies.
- Develop detailed lesson plans that incorporate hands-on activities, projects, and real-world applications.
- Integrate technology tools and resources into lesson plans to enhance learning and skill development.
- Teach technology concepts and skills using a variety of instructional methods, including demonstrations, lectures, group projects, and interactive activities.
- Facilitate learning in areas such as computer science, digital media, web design, cybersecurity, and hardware/software use.
- Encourage students to explore and experiment with different technology tools and applications.
- Create and administer assessments to evaluate students’ understanding and proficiency in technology-related skills and concepts.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback on student work, including assignments, projects, and exams.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and progress, and use data to inform instruction and support student development.
- Establish and maintain a positive, organized, and safe classroom environment conducive to technology learning and experimentation.
- Implement effective classroom management strategies to address behavioral issues and ensure a productive learning atmosphere.
- Ensure students follow safety protocols and proper use of technology and equipment.
- Provide additional support and resources to students who require extra help with technology-related tasks and concepts.
- Develop individualized learning plans and provide one-on-one assistance as needed.
- Motivate students to explore emerging technologies and develop their own projects or innovations.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with technological advancements, educational technologies, and teaching strategies.
- Attend workshops, conferences, and training sessions to enhance teaching skills and subject knowledge.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to the development of the technology curriculum.
- Maintain clear and open communication with students, parents, and guardians regarding academic progress, assignments, and any concerns.
- Conduct parent-teacher conferences to discuss student achievements, challenges, and development.
- Provide regular updates on classroom activities, assignments, and assessments.
- Prepare and submit necessary reports, grades, and documentation in a timely manner.
- Manage classroom technology resources, including computers, software, and other equipment, ensuring they are well-maintained and functional.
- Participate in school meetings, committees, and extracurricular activities as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Bachelor’s degree

- South Carolina Teaching Certificate
- CTE Certification
