Position Summary
The Program Director is responsible for the organization, administration, fiscal management, continuous review and analysis, planning, development, and provisional accreditation of the OT program. Additionally, the Program Director is responsible for ensuring the program complies with the ACOTE throughout the accreditation process and once accredited remains in compliance. Applicants should have demonstrated expertise in these areas. The Program Director reports to the Dean of the College of Science, Health and Pharmacy and will supervise the Academic Fieldwork Coordinator, principal faculty, and staff. The director and must be able to work effectively with multiple offices on campus (Admissions, Financial Aid, Finance) and with select external constituents. Experience in curriculum development, evaluation, instruction, program administration, academic advising required.

The salary for this position is $172,000 annually.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
  • Experience in curriculum development, evaluation, instruction, program administration, academic advising required.
  • At least 8 years of documented experience in the field of occupational therapy.
  • Greater than 3 years of full-time higher education experience.
  • Excellent organizational, communication (written and verbal), interpersonal skills and attention to detail to effectively communicate with students, staff, faculty, preceptors, clinical site staff, and leadership.
  • Ability to exercise considerable judgment and discretion in establishing and maintaining good working relationships.
  • Ability to demonstrate a commitment to service excellence by embodying Roosevelt’s core values, mission, and vision in every aspect of the role working with students, staff, faculty, preceptors, clinical site staff, and leadership.
  • Demonstrated cultural competence, sensitivity to, and understanding of students, faculty, and staff’s diverse academic, socioeconomic, and ethnic backgrounds.



Years of Experience Required
8 years of documented experience in occupational therapy and 3 years of full-time academic appointment with teaching responsibilities at the postsecondary level

Required Education
Doctoral Degree

Certification/Licensure Required
Certified licensed occupational therapist in Illinois or eligible for licensure in Illinois

Preferred Qualifications
5 years of full-time higher education and leadership and management experience; record of successfully supporting program assessment and accreditation.

Equipment Operated
Office equipment (desktop computer, office copier and phone).

Working Conditions
Normal climate-controlled office environment is provided. Job is largely sedentary, but there is a need to move about the office and buildings frequently. Occasional bending, stooping, lifting, pushing and/or pulling is required (typically less than 10 pounds of weight or pressure). Regular use of desktop computer is required, calling for frequent hand/wrist movement and repetition. Moderate level of stress. Occasional travel within the local or regional setting may be required.
