Lead Developer (NodeJS / ReactJS) - INTL Mexico

Job Description

In this role, the Lead Developer will oversee a small team of full stack engineers while remaining hands on with backend development. Day to day, you'll lead the design and development of NodeJS based APIs and services, contribute to greenfield initiatives, and support ReactJS feature development as needed. You'll collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions, while guiding the team on best practices, code quality, and delivery standards. The role also includes conducting code reviews, mentoring developers, helping prioritize work, and ensuring team progress aligns with sprint goals and business priorities.

Skills and Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a Full Stack Developer, with a strong backend focus (approximately 80% backend / 20% frontend)

• 1+ year of people management experience as a team lead, managing at least 3 developers (this role will manage a team of 5)

• Strong NodeJS experience, including API development, RESTful services, and greenfield development

• Hands-on experience with ReactJS, focused on new feature development

• Excellent communication skills with a proactive, collaborative, and user-focused mindset - Exposure to search technologies such as Elasticsearch, OpenSearch, or Apache Solr

• Familiarity with Kubernetes and containerized environments

• Experience working with AWS cloud services
