Roosevelt University’s Mathematics Program seeks adjunct instructors to teach various courses for the Fall 2026semester at the Chicago Campus with expertise in one or more of the following areas:

  • Developmental and co-requisite mathematics courses
  • Writing in a mathematics course
  • Teaching using excel and other software
  • Statistics
  • College algebra and precalculus; and
  • Calculus.

Entry level compensation rate for teaching one 3-credit course as of Fall 2026 is $3,982.00. Compensation for courses that carry fewer or more than three credits will be prorated down or up accordingly. Entry into the union for any subsequent semesters of employment thereafter is required.

Voluntary benefits such as tuition remission, commuter savings, voluntary retirement contributions, and pet insurance are all made available upon union membership and eligibility.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
A Master’s Degree in Mathematics or related field for all credit bearing courses. A Bachelor’s Degree may be acceptable for non-credit-bearing courses.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with at-risk and/or first-generation college students.

2-5 years of prior experience teaching at the university level

Equipment Operated
Some courses use zoom, excel, word, mathematical software packages, graphing calculators, or other educational technology.

Working Conditions
Normal climate-controlled office environment is provided. Job is largely sedentary, but there is a need to move about the office and buildings frequently. Occasional bending, stooping, lifting, pushing and/or pulling is required (typically less than 10 pounds).
