Overview
We are seeking an Automation Engineer to join our North America Automation Team. This role is responsible for leading the development and execution of automation projects across multiple manufacturing sites, driving improvements in safety, ergonomics, and overall job quality. You will play a key role in delivering innovative automation solutions from concept through implementation while partnering closely with internal stakeholders and external integrators.
This is a highly visible role that requires strong project leadership, technical expertise, and collaboration across cross functional teams to ensure successful project delivery and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
Lead the development and execution of automation projects from concept through startup and handoff to production
Form and lead cross functional project teams across multiple manufacturing sites
Define project scope, functional specifications, cost estimates, and timelines to support capital approvals
Manage external integrators through concept development, design, build, and implementation
Oversee factory acceptance testing to ensure systems meet design and performance requirements prior to installation
Lead equipment installation activities, ensuring compliance with safety standards and proper documentation
Partner with plant teams to execute successful system startups including site acceptance testing and validation processes
Ensure all projects align with safety standards, compliance requirements, and continuous improvement objectives
Drive a strong safety culture by integrating safety into all aspects of project planning and execution
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required
Minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering, manufacturing, or project management
Strong project management skills including scheduling, cost tracking, and execution
Experience leading cross functional project teams from kickoff through completion
Knowledge of automation systems, robotics, and working with integrators preferred
Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to read and interpret technical drawings
Proficiency in CAD tools such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD, including layout and 3D modeling
Excellent problem solving and decision making skills
Strong communication skills with the ability to present to stakeholders at all levels
Knowledge of safety regulations and ability to apply them in engineering design
Six Sigma certification preferred

What You Will Bring
You bring a strong foundation in engineering and automation, along with the ability to lead complex projects across multiple sites. You are comfortable working in a fast paced environment, managing multiple priorities, and collaborating with both internal teams and external partners to deliver impactful results.
The salary range for this position is $75,600-105,000. Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered. This salary will be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state), if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.
