CNC Lathe Machinist

Job Duties


JOB SUMMARY

A CNC Lathe Machinist runs computer-controlled machines (like lathes, mills), programs in MasterCAM to cut, shape, and finish parts from raw materials, ensuring precision by loading stock, monitoring the process, performing quality checks, and making minor adjustments, serving as a key role in modern manufacturing with high demand for detail-oriented, tech-savvy individuals. Machinist will handle daily running and setup - this is an advanced machinists so programming is required, troubleshoot complex issues, and manage tooling.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO...)

- Performs operations as specified on the documentation furnished, including meeting the established rates and recording the times and quantities completed under minimum supervision.

- Informs the supervisor of any discrepancies in machining procedures, worker or equipment safety, or housekeeping issues, and requests assistance in any of these areas when they are beyond their control.

- Lifts and transfers parts between workstations.

- Follows established safety rules in all aspects of the machining procedure.

- Assures that all components are produced in accordance with established engineering and quality standards.

- Responsible for general housekeeping and/or organization in and around the workplace being used.

- Performs operations in standing or sitting position.

- Completes tasks within ISO 9000 Guidelines.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS DESIRED

- Able to read and accurately follow written instructions, write production figures, perform mathematical computations.

- Doosan & Hyundai experience or other similar equipment with live tooling

- MasterCAM programing mandatory

- Demonstrates the ability to receive work direction and training.

- Demonstrates knowledge of all materials used to create the products in the shop environment.

- Lifting requirements up to 50 pounds.

- Requires understanding of verbal and written instructions to perform shop operations.

- Requires good hand/eye coordination, finger dexterity and mechanical aptitude.

- May be required to perform some or all of the supervisors duties in his absence.

- Familiar with basic inspection tools and their operation.
