Design Manager

Job Description

We are a small water resources engineering firm seeking an experienced Design Manager to lead technical design efforts across a variety of municipal and infrastructure projects. This role is ideal for a senior engineer who enjoys both hands-on design and team mentorship within a collaborative, close-knit environment. Location: Cleveland, OH (on-site with potential for hybrid work)

Salary Range: $110,000-$130,000/year

Full-time/benefits-eligible

Key Responsibilities:

· Manage and oversee engineering design for drainage systems, horizontal sewer systems, water distribution and utility infrastructure.

· Lead project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and quality control.

· Provide technical direction and mentorship to engineering staff.

· Coordinate with clients, municipalities, and regulatory agencies.

· Review and approve engineering drawings, reports, and specifications.

· Support proposal development and client relationship management.

Qualifications:

· Minimum 10 years of experience in water resources, civil, or municipal infrastructure design, specifically roadway drainage design.

· Demonstrated expertise & leadership capabilities in drainage design, sewer design, and water infrastructure design.

· Strong understanding of applicable codes, standards, and permitting processes.

· Proven experience managing design teams and project deliverables.

· Excellent communication and client-facing skills.

· Active Ohio Professional Engineer (PE) license required.

· Proficiency with design tools such as Civil 3D, GIS, and hydraulic modeling software preferred.
