Software Architect (New York, NY)

Position Duties: Collaborate with managers, engineers, designers, peer organizations, quality assurance, and end-users to produce enterprise software solutions in both Japanese and English. Architect, design, implement, maintain, and optimize software solutions, including web apps, data ingestion pipelines, ETL workflows, and BI dashboards to address business and analytics needs. Evaluate and recommend modern tools, frameworks, and cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, Docker) to ensure scalability, performance, and quality of the product platform. Troubleshoot quickly and efficiently, and optimize software applications, data pipelines, and APIs for reliability and efficiency. Major project activities include data architecture planning, feasibility analysis, solution design, and implementation of business-driven technology applications, maximizing the value of technology and analytics. Lead the scope, design, development, and implementation of applications, data platforms, and software components that integrate into enterprise systems and support reporting and analytics. Coordinate with management to understand business problems and design effective IT and data solutions, identify new opportunities, and recommend system improvements and IT strategies. Provide technical leadership, guide junior engineers, and ensure team members apply best practices to complete projects effectively. Educate business users on technology adoption, best practices, and process improvements. Job Requirements: Bachelors degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related and two (2) years of experience in job offered or related occupation such as Software Engineer, Data Platform Engineer, Applications Engineer. Business-level proficiency in Japanese (spoken and written) to communicate with clients, create technical documents, and provide bilingual project support. Qualifying experience must include full term experience with each of the following: Software design, development, testing and maintenance of enterprise-level applications; Programming languages including Python, Java, and JavaScript; Web application frameworks and RESTful API design (Springboot, Flask); Data processing and analytics workflows using Airflow, Hadoop, Hive, and BigQuery; Development of business intelligence (BI) dashboards using Kafka, Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana; Use of commercial cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS); Implementation of containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes); System architecture design, performance optimization, and application troubleshooting; Collaboration with cross-functional teams including management, QA, and design to define and deliver technical solutions.
