Job Description

Position: Director, Site Strategies

Department: Economic Development

Reports to: Vice President, Economic Development

Classification: Full Time/Exempt

Salary Scale: $65,000-80,000

Summary/Objectives:

The Director of Site Strategies is responsible for the management of JobsOhio’s site related programs and the generation of new developable sites for expansion and attraction investment.

Essential Functions:

· Manage all aspects of the JobsOhio Site Inventory, Vibrant Communities and SiteOhio programs, including the creation of marketing materials, individual projects, regional presentations and other.

· Generate new developable sites for listing in the ZoomProspector database in accordance with the Lake to River large sites strategy.

· Learn and execute all aspects of the ZoomProspector database when required, including the property lead alert system, populating the database and submitting properties in response to real estate inquiries.

· Create individual mapping packages for each available site.

· Attend internal and external meetings, including tradeshows and conferences; document and follow-up on action items as required.

· Participate on bi-weekly Sites Pipeline calls with LTR and JobsOhio personnel.

· Participate in quarterly Sites Strategy Meetings with LTR, JobsOhio and JobsOhio Network Partners.

· Identify properties to be highlighted on the Lake to River website, in the newsletter and on social media.

· Build relationships with regional real estate professionals, government officials and developers.

· Coordinate and track economic development contract reporting, internal documentation and renewals.

· Participate on real estate related committees and boards throughout the region.

· Track all LTR activities in Salesforce

· Additional tasks as assigned by the Vice President of Economic Development

Required Education, Experience and Abilities

· Bachelor’s degree in business, public administration, urban planning, GIS mapping or equivalent preferred, but will consider candidates without a degree that have planning, mapping and/or real estate experience.

· 3-5+ years' experience in economic development, planning, mapping and/or real estate

· Additional economic development, real estate or mapping certifications or training that demonstrate advanced knowledge are highly desirable.

· Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with discretion.

· Act in a professional manner and with integrity in all business-related dealings, actions, and conversations.

· A robust knowledge of the Lake to River region.

· Sales, negotiation, and project management skills demonstrated in a fast-paced work environment.

· Exceptional communication and organizational skills, and attention to detail.

· Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

· Effective writing skills

Physical Requirements:

· Using office equipment, such as computers, telephones, and other tools, which require sitting and using your hands.

· Occasionally lifting/moving items up to 25 pounds, such as supplies or materials, although heavy physical activity isn’t a core part of the job.

· Being able to work in an office environment and collaborate with others, which includes long periods of sitting, typing and computer work, routine movements around an office or workplace.

· Ability to travel locally and statewide as needed for meetings or events, including a valid driver’s license and insurability.

Line of Communication and Accountability

The Director of Site Strategies reports directly to the Vice President of Economic Development. He/she may also support and provide reports or key information to the Board of Directors as requested by the CEO.

Performance Standards

The effectiveness of the Director of Site Strategies is measured against annual goals established with the Vice President of Economic Development and are based upon internal and external performance measures articulated in the Lake to River plan of services.
