Histology Technician

Responsibilities

• Prepare tissue specimens through embedding, sectioning, staining, and mounting for microscopic examination
• Collect and process biological samples following strict laboratory protocols and aseptic techniques
• Maintain accurate documentation of all laboratory procedures, specimen tracking, and patient information
• Ensure proper handling of specimens using correct anatomy knowledge, pathology terminology, and laboratory techniques
• Perform routine quality control checks on equipment and reagents to guarantee reliable results
• Follow safety guidelines diligently, including aseptic techniques and infection control practices to prevent contamination

Requirements

• Prior clinical laboratory experience with tissue processing or histology techniques
• Experience working in research laboratories or hospital settings preferred
• Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pathology, and medical terminology essential for precise specimen handling
• Proficiency in laboratory procedures such as fixation, embedding, microtomy, staining, and slide preparation
• Hands-on experience with specimen collection methods and processing of biological samples
• Familiarity with vital signs monitoring and patient care procedures is a plus
• Strong understanding of laboratory safety standards, aseptic technique, and laboratory equipment maintenance
• Excellent attention to detail coupled with the ability to follow complex protocols accurately

Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
