Grandville United Methodist Church seeks a Coordinator of Youth Ministries to support a Christcentered, Wesleyan ministry for youth (7th through 12th grade), plus some work with those in grades 4-6. This position partners with the Grandville UMC Christian Education Director and the Youth Directors at Georgetown United Methodist Church, to nurture faith development, build relationships, and implement programming aligned with the mission of the United Methodist Church. This position will begin in mid to late August, 2026, for planning. Regular sessions with youth run September through May.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and implement regular faith development classes for Grandville UMC youth (7th -12th grade), using curriculum grounded in Scripture, discipleship, and United Methodist Theology.
- Collaborate with the Youth Disciples Ministry Director at Georgetown United Methodist Church.
- Help recruit, train, and support volunteers in compliance with Safe Sanctuary policies.
- Build caring, pastoral relationship with youth and families
- Assist with communication, record-keeping, and conference reporting as needed.
- Participate in meetings with Christian Education Director and Pastor
Qualifications
- Active Christian faith and commitment to nurturing disciples of Jesus Christ
- Experience working with youth, volunteer or professional
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Availability on Sunday mornings and occasional evenings/weekends
- Willingness to uphold the UMC belief and practice, Child Protection policies and expectations of a connectional and ecumenical church
