Base Civil Limited is looking for a motivated and reliable Surfacing Labourer (Field Staff) to join our growing team. This is a hands-on role where you’ll be involved in a wide range of civil & surfacing activities, working alongside experienced crews on projects that make a real impact. About the Role As a Surfacing Labourer, you’ll play a key role in delivering works safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. Working under the guidance of the Foreperson and Project Manager, you’ll learn to operate vehicles and machinery, support site activities, and contribute to a strong team culture. Key Responsibilities; * Carry out all tasks safely and to specification * Operate vehicles, plant, and equipment (within your licence and competency) * Perform labouring duties such as site prep, shovel hand, chip running & general works * Assist with paving, sealing, and traffic management activities * Complete daily pre-start checks and report faults or hazards * Accurately complete timesheets, logbooks, and job records * Follow instructions and contribute to site productivity and quality * Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment What We’re Looking For; * Asphalt/chip sealing experience preferred, but not essential (training provided for the right candidate) * Relevant licences and operating tickets (or willingness to obtain) * Class 1 driver licence (minimum requirement) * Physically fit, reliable, and punctual * Strong focus on health and safety * Ability to follow instructions and work well in a team * Positive attitude and willingness to learn What You’ll Bring; * A strong work ethic and commitment to doing the job right * Respectful communication with team members and the public * A proactive approach to safety, quality, and teamwork Why Join Base Civil Limited? * Variety of work across multiple surfacing projects * Supportive team environment * Opportunities for training and development * Competitive pay and conditions * Be part of a company where your contribution matters If you’re ready to build your career in civil construction and be part of a hardworking, down-to-earth crew, we’d love to hear from you.
