Excavator operator

About the role We are looking for an Excavator Operator who wants to make a real difference to our business. Based just outside Te Puke in Paengaroa, this is an exciting opportunity for the right person who loves supporting the efficient and safe functioning of the orchard team. The job may involve projects throughout the North Island. Willingness to travel is essential. We see incredible opportunities ahead for the business and just need the right person who can own the position and enjoy the journey. Expected 42.5 hours a week with minimum 32 hours per week. There may be some weekends. Duties Preparing orchard sites through earthworks such as clearing, levelling, shaping, and forming access tracks to specification Digger operation to prepare land for construction Carry out trenching for irrigation, drainage, cabling and services Shape orchard rows, tracks and accessways to required tolerances Support shelter and overhead structure installation teams with machine assisted placement. Completing daily machine checks and basic servicing, and operating machinery safely in accordance with site health and safety procedures. Skills and experience We are looking for someone with; 3 years experience in machinery operation Proof of care in maintaining equipment Being able to work to plans Has excellent time management skills and able to prioritise key work Has good verbal English skills Has a clean driving license including a Class 4 license Ideally You are comfortable with software Apps relating to Health & Safety, fleet and tool tracking. You are trained in the use of orchard equipment in particular skidsteers, hydraladas and post rammers.
