The Opportunity A premier metals processing facility in Kansas City is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician. This is a high-impact role focused on ensuring production continuity. You will be the technical lead on-site for troubleshooting and repairing heavy industrial machinery, including cut-to-length lines, slitters, and polishing equipment.

Key Responsibilities
- Diagnostic & Repair: Troubleshoot and repair issues involving three-phase electrical systems (480V), DC motors, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
- Machine Maintenance: Support four major metal processing lines, overhead cranes, and forklifts.
- Preventative Maintenance: Execute PM programs to maximize equipment uptime and safety.
- Fabrication: Perform welding and mechanical repairs on machine parts as needed.
- Documentation: Manage work orders, track inventory parts, and record maintenance data.
Required Qualifications
- Experience: 7–10 years of industrial maintenance experience (Metal industry preferred).
- Technical Expertise: Advanced knowledge of electro-mechanical systems and hydraulic/pneumatic troubleshooting.
- Electrical Skills: Proficiency in three-phase power and electrical diagnosis.
- Welding: Hands-on experience with welding is a significant advantage.
- Independence: Ability to work autonomously on the 2nd shift without the need for basic training.
- Requirements: High School Diploma/GED, valid Driver’s License, and ability to meet MVR quality criteria.

Responsibilities
- Production Support: Act as the technical lead for second-shift operations, keeping four primary lines running: Cut-to-Length, Slitters, Polishing, and Shears.
- Mechanical Repair: Troubleshoot, dismantle, and reassemble machinery using hand tools, jacks, cranes, and hoists.
- Electrical Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair issues involving 3-phase 480V systems, DC motors, and wiring.
- Fluid Power: Maintain and repair industrial hydraulic and pneumatic systems that drive the processing lines.
- Welding: Perform minor fabrication and repair welding as needed to keep production moving.
Preventative Maintenance & Inspection - PM Programs: Execute scheduled preventative maintenance (cleaning, lubrication, and parts replacement) to prevent downtime.
- Performance Monitoring: Observe mechanical operations during production to detect inefficiencies or safety hazards before they become failures.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure all repairs meet OSHA and company safety standards, including proper rigging and motorized equipment operation.
Facility & Logistics Support - Support Equipment: Service and maintain secondary equipment, including overhead cranes and sit-down forklifts.
- Inventory Tracking: Order and track replacement parts; maintain digital or manual records of all maintenance and repair work.
- Infrastructure: Assist with minor repairs to plant infrastructure, including HVAC, plumbing, and basic warehouse racking.
