Job Summary

SCLS seeks a Full-time LSV-H Outreach Paralegal. The outreach paralegal coordinates veteran-focused outreach efforts, conducts trauma-informed screenings, and ensures smooth intake and referral processing in partnership with community agencies and VA programs. The outreach paralegal will assist SCLS in developing and executing a plan of action to: 1) increase legal representation, advocacy, education, and outreach for Veterans; 2) identify, develop, and enhance collaborative working relationships with social services agencies, faith, healthcare, community economic development, non-profit and client groups; and 3) identify, develop, promote, schedule and/or organize legal education and outreach events. This position may have regional responsibilities. A more detailed job description is available upon request.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited two or four-year college or university;
A certificate of completion/graduation from an accredited paralegal program
Strong oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills
Knowledge of legal principles, legal research methods, legal terminology, the court
system, and legal procedures are helpful
Public speaking experience
history of interacting with diverse groups
Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 & SharePoint Online
Excellent technology and social media skills
Excellent organization skills and detail-oriented
Bilingual skills are a plus, but not required
Valid driver’s license and good driving record, and ability to work flexible hours to include nights and weekends.
