One of NZ’s Project Management consultancies are seeking a Project Manager with a process engineering background to join them to services clients in the dairy, industrial and water sectors. This is an opportunity for a technically strong, delivery focused professional who enjoys solving complex problems, working with multidisciplinary teams, and guiding clients through challenging project environments. The Role As a Project Manager, you will lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of projects across sectors in dairy, energy, water, industrial, and utilities. Your process engineering foundation will enable you to understand technical drivers, challenge assumptions, and add real value throughout the project lifecycle. You’ll work closely with clients to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. Key Responsibilities • Manage end to end project delivery, from feasibility and design through to construction delivery • Apply process engineering insight to support decision making, risk management, and technical assurance • Coordinate with stakeholders and ensure alignment across engineering, commercial, and delivery functions • Develop project plans, schedules, budgets, and reporting frameworks • Engage with clients as a trusted advisor, providing clarity, structure, and proactive problem solving • Support procurement, contract management, and stakeholder communication • Drive continuous improvement and contribute to best practice project management methodologies About You You’ll bring a blend of technical depth and project leadership capability, with the confidence to operate in a consultancy environment. You will have: • A degree in process engineering, chemical engineering, or a related discipline • Experience delivering projects in industrial, dairy, water, energy, utilities, or similar environments • Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams • A proactive, analytical mindset and the ability to translate technical detail into clear project actions • Experience working with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders • A desire to grow your career within a consultancy setting Professional PM qualifications (e.g., PMP, APM, Prince2) are beneficial but not essential.
