Quarry Operator / Quarryman – Raukawa Quarry We’re on the lookout for a skilled and reliable Quarry Operator / Heavy Machinery Operator to join our team at Raukawa Quarry. This is a hands-on role where you’ll play a key part in the safe and efficient production of high-spec aggregates, working with modern plant and equipment in a supportive team environment. About the role Reporting to the Quarry Manager, you’ll be responsible for operating heavy machinery, maintaining plant, and assisting with general quarry operations to meet production targets. Your day-to-day will include: • Operating plant and heavy vehicles safely and efficiently • Supporting production to meet daily output targets • Carrying out pre-start checks and reporting faults • Maintaining plant and equipment in good working order • Keeping the site clean, tidy, and safe • Completing daily documentation and reports • Participating in toolbox meetings and safety systems What we’re looking for • Minimum Class 2 driver’s licence • W and T endorsements (essential) • Experience operating heavy machinery in a quarry or similar environment • Strong commitment to health & safety • Good communication and teamwork skills • Reliable, motivated, and able to work independently Highly regarded: • Quarrying Certificate • Certificate of Competence (CoC) • Mechanical awareness / basic maintenance skills What you’ll bring • A positive attitude and strong work ethic • Ability to adapt and problem-solve on the job • Pride in maintaining equipment and site standards • Willingness to learn and undertake further training • Flexibility to assist with occasional emergency or after-hours work Why join us? • Stable, full-time role in a growing operation • Supportive team environment • Ongoing training and development opportunities • Work with a company that prioritises safety, quality, and professionalism If you’re an experienced operator who takes pride in your work and wants to be part of a solid team, we want to hear from you.
