#39657Job Summary:The Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Colorado School of Medicine is
seeking applicants for a full time Assistant - Associate Professor to work as a retina specialist in our growing academic ophthalmology
practice at The Sue Anschutz Rodgers Eye Center (SAREC). The position will provide outpatient medical and surgical management of
vitreoretinal disease at SAREC, Denver Health, and affiliate sites of practice within the Denver metropolitan area.
Key
Responsibilities:
- This position will be responsible for direct outpatient medical and surgical management of vitreoretinal
disease at The University of Colorado Eye Center and affiliate sites of practice. The position will be responsible for developing a robust
retinal practice as well as a commitment to resident teaching and basic or clinical research.
- Provides direct patient care at The
Sue Anschutz Rodgers Eye Center, Denver Health, and affiliate sites of practice in the medical and surgical management of vitreoretinal
disease, resident teaching, and basic or clinical applied research
Work Location:Onsite -
this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora and Denver, CO.

Qualifications:Minimum Qualifications:Applicants must meet minimum qualifications
at the time of hire.
This is an open rank position and could be categorized as Assistant Professor or Associate Professor based on
experience and qualifications as indicated below:
Assistant Professor:- MD trained
- Completed
an approved residency program in ophthalmology including fellowship training in retina
- Must be board certified or eligible and have
a Colorado medical license or be eligible
Associate Professor- MD trained
- Completed an
approved residency program in ophthalmology including fellowship training in retina
- Must be board certified or eligible and have a
Colorado medical license or be eligible
- 5-7+ years of experience in vitreoretinal disease
Preferred
Qualifications All Ranks:- Subspecialty interest in pediatric retina or inherited retinal disease
- Fluency in
Spanish and experience using Spanish in a medical setting
- Demonstrated experience working clinically with underserved
populations
- Demonstrated academic interest in working with underserved populations
Knowledge, Skills and
Abilities:- Knowledge and proficiency in medical and surgical management of vitreoretinal disease.
- Demonstrated
interest in resident teaching and basic or clinical applied research.

for this position has been established as
HIRING RANGE:Assistant Professor
$165,000 to
$300,000
Associate Professor
$250,000 to $392,000
The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's
good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime
compensation unless it is non-exempt.
