Position SummaryThe Eskenazi School of Art, Architecture + Design invites applications for a non-tenure-track, full-time Visiting Assistant
Professor in the Creative Core area, to begin August 1, 2026.
Courses in the Creative Core are foundation-level and prepare students
beginning their studies in studio arts, design, and merchandising. These courses also serve many non-majors fulfilling Arts and Humanities
requirements. We seek candidates who can teach across studio foundations courses and support students with a range of experience levels in
visual art and design. These courses include Color, Drawing, 3D Design, and/or Studio Art for Non-Majors. The successful candidate will also
demonstrate interest in contributing to a large lecture/discussion-format introductory course,
Pathways in Art, Design, and
Merchandising.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to the foundational Creative Core experience
within undergraduate education, dedication to mentoring graduate instructors as vital contributors to the program, and the ability to
collaborate with colleagues in shaping the Creative Core curriculum.
Responsibilities beyond teaching include, but are not limited
to, training and mentoring Graduate Associate Instructors and maintaining studio classroom spaces.
The Creative Core serves as the
foundation in art and design within the Eskenazi School of Art, Architecture + Design and the College of Arts and Sciences. The Eskenazi

Basic Qualifications1. A terminal degree (MFA, M.Arch, or equivalent)
by the start date of employment
2. A minimum of two years of college-level teaching experience, including foundations-level courses
3. An active professional and exhibition record.
4. Demonstrated effectiveness in communication and leadership.
