Records Clerk (Temporary - Federal Bridge File Project)
Location: North Senate Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46204
Duration: 6+ Months
Pay: $20/hr all-inclusive (1099 contract)
Assist in completing the Federal Bridge File Project, a 6-month initiative (with potential extension) focused on compiling and digitizing state bridge documentation.
Key Responsibilities
Compile documents to finalize each bridge file using state business systems.
Research "As-Built" records and coordinate with the Archive Department when systems lack data.
Conduct thorough research, identify bridges, catalog files, and convert hard copies to electronic formats (scanning to PDF).
Convert existing TIF files to PDF, index, and store in a temporary digital location.
Perform detailed audits of bridge files, document anomalies, and provide written justifications for incompletes.
Track daily completions, generate monthly report analyses as needed, and handle additional duties to ensure clean documentation.
Qualifications
Proven experience (1+ years) in researching, auditing files, and converting/organizing into digital formats.
Familiarity with file conversion processes (e.g., TIF to PDF).
Experience managing digital storage systems.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills with ability to work independently.
Logical thinker skilled in research techniques; comfortable asking questions.
Intermediate to advanced Excel proficiency.
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
