Job Description

We're seeking a Systems Engineer to support our U.S. Government program in the Laurel, MD area. The Systems Engineer will be responsible for supporting and maintaining Microsoft Identity Management (MIM) environments, ensuring system performance, data integrity, and secure identity operations across enterprise infrastructure. This role includes troubleshooting, patching, and sustaining both application and database components within a mission-critical environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Support and maintain Microsoft Identity Management (MIM) environments, including configuration, administration, and troubleshooting
  • Perform OS and database patching/maintenance across Windows and SQL Server environments
  • Execute application patching, upgrades, and configuration changes in accordance with security and operational requirements
  • Troubleshoot, correct, and restore system functionality across identity management and database systems
  • Maintain data integrity and data flow across identity systems and integrated platforms
  • Support Microsoft SQL Server environments, including database maintenance, troubleshooting, and performance tuning
  • Write and execute SQL queries and scripts to support troubleshooting, reporting, and data validation efforts
  • Monitor system performance and proactively address issues impacting availability and reliability
  • Participate in system engineering activities including requirements analysis, system design, and documentation development
  • Support development and maintenance of system engineering documentation such as requirements specifications, interface control documents, and system engineering plans
  • Assist in managing system configurations and ensuring baseline integrity throughout the system lifecycle
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support system integration, testing, and operational support

Qualifications:
  • Education:
    • A Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline is desired. An additional four (4) years of experience may be substituted for the degree.
  • Experience:
    • Fourteen (14) years of experience as a Systems Engineer or in a related role supporting enterprise IT systems
    • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Identity Manager (MIM) or similar identity management technologies (e.g., Active Directory, LDAP, IAM solutions)
    • Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server, including query writing and database troubleshooting
    • Experience performing system patching, upgrades, and maintenance in secure environments
  • Clearance:
    • An active TS/SCI clearance with appropriate Polygraph (Poly).
  • Other:
    • Must be a motivated self-starter with excellent time management skills.
    • Must be detail oriented.
    • Must be an excellent communicator - verbal & written.
    • Must be able to work with team members and by individually.
    • Must be able to connect with individuals of varying backgrounds.

Salary Range: $160,000 - $225,000 USD / year

Salary Description: The pay range for this job, with multi-levels, is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
