They continue to be a major player in the civil contracting market with a strong forward workload in Christchurch, Nelson and Marlborough. With a number of high profile and major projects underway and coming online, we now need a Surveyor to join our high performing surveying team where you will report into the Survey Manager - a Civil Construction surveying legend! As a Surveyor, you will be responsible for the 3D modelling for Machine Control, set-out and asbuilting of construction jobs across a variety of projects, including Land Development, Public Works and Siteworks. You will also support the Contract Management team with volume calculations for monthly claiming. Key Responsibilities: * Use of modern surveying equipment, including: GPS, Robotic Total Stations, Drones and 3D Machine Control to conduct setout, as-built and topographic surveys, capturing precise site data. * Prepare and manage field data, as well as 3D modelling for earthworks and drainage to be utilised for Machine Control. * Deliver survey outputs in both digital and hardcopy formats as required. * Work closely with clients, sub-contractors, and the Schick team. * Assisting Quantity Surveyors and Contract Managers with variations and payment claims. * Ensuring survey equipment is maintained, calibrated, and kept in good working order. About you: * Relevant qualification and / or ideally 3 years’ experience in civil construction surveying. * Civil infrastructure surveying experience. * Solid understanding of surveying principles, techniques, and equipment including GPS, total stations, digital levels, and drone operations. * Proficient in surveying software - 12D. * Ability to interpret technical drawings, site specifications, and construction documents accurately.
