Looking for a leadership role with purpose? Home4All is a small, values-driven day care service on the Kāpiti Coast, supporting people living with Early Stage Dementia (ESD) through a green care farm model. Originating in the Netherlands and gaining international recognition, this innovative and growing approach to brain health care is now emerging in New Zealand, with Home4All playing a leading role in its development. The work is deeply meaningful—grounded in relationships, dignity, and connection to nature—but operates within real-world constraints and requires an innovative leader who can balance care, people, and financial sustainability. This is a hands-on leadership role in a small, evolving organisation. You will be responsible for guiding the day-to-day performance of the service, supporting your team, and strengthening participation and sustainability over time. It will suit someone who is as committed to high-quality day care and human connection as they are to building and leading a service that can endure. About the role Reporting to the Board, the General Manager leads the day-to-day operations of Home4All’s day programme. Central to the role is ensuring that Visitors with Early Stage Dementia (ESD) experience safe, engaging, and person-centered care during their time at Home4All; delivered with warmth, respect, and consistency. You will work closely with a small team of staff and volunteers, supporting them to deliver meaningful daily activities while also maintaining oversight of operations, occupancy, and financial performance. Success in this role comes from being present—both with Visitors and with your team—while steadily strengthening the organisation behind the scenes. Where you’ll make an impact: • Lead the day-to-day performance of the day care service, balancing quality care with sustainable operations • Grow participation in the programme by strengthening referral pathways and community connections • Guide and support a small team of staff and volunteers, building confidence, capability, and consistency • Maintain a visible, hands-on presence, supporting high-quality, person-centred care for Visitors with ESD • Build strong, trust-based relationships with Visitors, their families, and the wider community • Manage budgets responsibly and contribute to the financial sustainability of the service • Continue to develop practical systems and processes that support a small, evolving organisation About you You bring both care experience and the ability to lead people in a grounded, practical way. This role may particularly suit a senior health professional, or experienced care practitioner ready to step into a broader leadership position that blends hands-on care with operational management. It offers an opportunity to apply your expertise in a more holistic, community-based setting while expanding your management capability in a small business setting. • Leadership experience with a hands-on, visible style—comfortable working alongside your team • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect easily with Visitors, families, and team members • A genuine commitment to person-centred day care and improving the lives of people living with ESD • Sound organisational and financial management capability • Resilient and adaptable, able to work effectively in a small, resource-constrained environment • Motivated by purpose, with an understanding of the importance of sustainability and structure • A background in nursing, allied health, or a related care profession is an advantage, but not essential The position is ideally suited to someone based in the Kāpiti region, though applicants from the wider Wellington area are encouraged. The Home4All farm is located just 4km from the Waikanae railway station and within a manageable commuting distance of Wellington. This is a role for someone who values people first, but is equally prepared to take responsibility for leading and strengthening a day care service that makes a real difference every day for our Visitors. How to apply: If this sounds like the next step in your leadership journey, and you’re motivated to deliver high-quality operations that enable meaningful outcomes for our people we’d love to hear from you.
