Job Description

We are looking for a qualified substitute teacher to work daily assignments in the Carlynton School District. This candidate must have a bachelor's degree and be willing to float between all schools in the district as needed. This role guarantees 5 days a week work and a rate of pay of $150 per day, paid by Substitute Teacher Service Inc.

Job Summary
We are seeking energetic and dedicated District Substitute Teachers to step into classrooms across various grade levels and subject areas. Responsibilities

  • Deliver prepared lessons and adapt instructional materials to meet the needs of students with diverse learning styles and abilities.
  • Implement classroom management strategies to foster a positive, respectful learning environment.
  • Collaborate with school staff and special education teams to support students with disabilities, including those with autism and developmental disabilities.
  • Assist in curriculum development and lesson planning tailored to early childhood education, literacy, math, and creative writing.
  • Provide mentorship and tutoring to individual students or small groups, especially in literacy education and Montessori methods.
  • Maintain clear communication with teachers and administrators regarding student progress and behavioral concerns.
  • Support classroom routines, behavior management, and childcare duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Prior classroom experience or background in teaching, tutoring, or childcare is preferred.
  • Knowledge of curriculum development, lesson planning, and classroom management techniques.
  • Experience working with children with special needs, including autism and developmental disabilities.
  • Familiarity with early childhood education principles such as Montessori or literacy instruction.
  • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with students, staff, and parents.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to different classroom environments and grade levels.
