We are seeking a Cloud Solutions Architect to serve as a technical lead for a major enterprise modernization project. This is a governance and oversight role rather than a "hands-on" coding position. You will guide technical implementation, ensure federal compliance, and manage vendor alignment to support large-scale business operations.
Location: Richmond, VA
Work Arrangement: Hybrid (2-3 days on-site per week)
Interview Process: Virtual initial interviews; manager reserves the option for a final in-person interview.
Key Responsibilities
- Architectural Oversight: Lead reviews and ensure solution implementations align with enterprise standards and cloud adoption strategies.
- Vendor & Stakeholder Management: Act as the bridge between technical vendors, program leadership, and business stakeholders.
- Compliance & Security: Ensure all systems meet NIST, HIPAA, and federal interoperability requirements.
- Documentation: Develop logical/physical diagrams, data flow maps, and technical roadmaps.
Required Skills & Experience
- 10+ Years of Experience: Proven track record in Architectural Modeling, Data Management, and Cloud Platforms (AWS or Azure).
- Governance Mindset: Strong experience in a lead/oversight capacity, governing large-scale system integrators.
- Communication: Exceptional ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Healthcare/Government IT (Highly Desired): Experience with Medicaid Enterprise Systems (MES), MITA framework, or large-scale public sector IT.
- Technical Breadth: Knowledge of modern stacks (Node.js, Java, APIs, REST) and healthcare data standards (FHIR, X12, XML).
Requirements for Application
- Local Residency: Candidates must currently reside within a 1-hour drive of Richmond, VA (commutable by car, not flight).
- US Based: Must physically reside within the US for the duration of the assignment.
- Certifications: Relevant AWS/Azure Architect certifications are highly preferred.
