Job Title: Inspector B – InHouse Product Location: Johnstown, PA
Martin-Baker America's Inspector B is responsible for the inspection and testing of inhouse fabric details, fabric assemblies, and static/mechanical assemblies. This role ensures all products meet applicable drawings, standards, specifications, and quality requirements. The Inspector B also completes all related inspection documentation and reports.
Responsibilities In this role, you are responsible for performing detailed visual and dimensional inspections of inhouse fabric details, fabric assemblies, and static or mechanical assemblies to ensure full compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, standards, work instructions, and purchase order requirements. You conduct a variety of functional and performance tests-including electrical, proof load, leak, pressure, and paintfinish evaluations-as applicable to each product. Your work includes obtaining and interpreting all necessary inspection data, selecting and properly using precise inspection instruments such as micrometers, calipers, bore gages, coatingthickness meters, pressure testers, and check fixtures. You also prepare and complete inspection documentation, including First Article Reports, First Piece Reports, and Nonconforming Material Reports, while adhering to all company procedures, work instructions, and safety policies.
EducationExperience - High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 2 years of inspection or similar experience.
Desired Skills - Proficient in specialized inspection tools, including pressure testers, coatingthickness meters, conductivity meters, and hardness testers.
- Skilled in using standard precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, bore gages, and dial indicators.
- Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and apply general shop math.
- Basic understanding of common manufacturing processes, including assembly methods, riveting, fastener installation, torque, plating, and painting.
- Competent with basic computer applications and digital documentation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including accurate and clear report preparation.
- Able to work independently, manage daily workload efficiently, and maintain high attention to detail.
- Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration skills when working with peers, supervisors, and managers.
- Ability to provide guidance and technical support in areas of expertise.
