About the Role

Apex Transport Group is hiring delivery helpers for dedicated Mattress Firm final-mile routes in the greater St. Louis metro area. Helpers ride with the driver on a 26ft straight truck and assist with all aspects of white-glove mattress delivery — loading, carrying, in-home setup, haul-away, and customer interaction.

This role is ideal for dependable, physically strong individuals who show up on time and take pride in professional work. No CDL or commercial driving experience required. Training provided.

What You'll Do

• Report to Earth City, MO dispatch yard by 6:00 AM
• Assist driver with pre-trip truck inspection and load verification
• Load truck at warehouse — organize product by delivery sequence
• Carry mattresses, adjustable bases, and bed frames into customer homes
• Assist with product unboxing, bed frame assembly, adjustable base setup, and mattress placement
• Remove old mattress and bedding on haul-away orders
• Protect customer property using floor runners, door frame protectors, and furniture blankets on every delivery
• Maintain clean, professional appearance and courteous customer interaction
• Help with post-delivery cleanup — restack blankets, secure straps, organize truck interior
• Assist driver with end-of-day closeout and truck return

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Ability to lift and carry 100+ lbs repeatedly throughout shift
• Reliable transportation to and from Earth City, MO dispatch yard
• Punctual — zero tolerance for late arrivals without prior notice
• Clean, professional appearance (company dress code enforced)
• Positive attitude and willingness to take direction from driver
• Smartphone for communication with dispatch
• Must pass drug screening
• No felony convictions involving theft, violence, or property crimes within 5 years (customer home access required)

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience with furniture, mattress, or appliance delivery
• Experience with hand trucks, dollies, and moving equipment
• Comfortable navigating stairs and tight spaces with heavy items
• Customer service experience
• Familiarity with St. Louis metro area

Physical Requirements

• Lift and carry 50–150 lbs with a partner
• Navigate stairs (up to 3 flights), narrow hallways, and tight doorways while carrying product
• Stand, walk, bend, squat, and kneel for 8–12 hours per shift
• Work in all weather conditions
• Frequent bending, reaching, and overhead lifting during truck loading and unloading
