Litigation Paralegal
Slotchiver & Slotchiver, LLP is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Litigation Paralegal to join our legal team. This position offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced paralegal to contribute to civil and probate litigation matters while maintaining work-life balance.
Position Overview
We are looking for a dedicated litigation paralegal to provide comprehensive support to our attorneys in all phases of litigation, from case initiation through trial. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously. Applicants must have at least 3 years of paralegal experience. Salary is competitive and will be commensurate with experience. Our firm is located in Mt. Key Responsibilities
- Docket court hearings and deadlines.
- Assist attorneys in preparing for trials, hearings, depositions, and mediation by organizing case files and exhibits.
- Conduct legal research and gather relevant information to support ongoing cases.
- Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
- Manage case calendars, deadlines, and schedules to ensure timely filings and compliance with court rules.
- Organize and maintain case files, both physical and electronic.
- Manage document production and e-discovery processes.
- Communicate effectively with clients, witnesses, opposing counsel, and court personnel via phone and email.
- Assist with preparation of settlement documents.
Required Qualifications
- Paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program OR equivalent experience
- Minimum 3-5 years of litigation paralegal experience
- Proficiency in legal research databases (Westlaw, LexisNexis)
- Strong knowledge of state and federal court procedures and court rules
- Experience with e-filing systems and case management software
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in proofreading to ensure all documents are free of errors before submission
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Schedule & Compensation
- Hours: 20-40 hours per week, flexible scheduling available
- Schedule: Monday-Friday
- Salary: Competitive hourly rate commensurate with experience
