Overview

Barn Nature Center is an organization based in Doylestown, Pennsylvania, that focuses on offering enriching experiences through educational and recreational activities. The center serves as a space for the community to engage with nature, fostering a deeper connection and appreciation for the environment. Known for its commitment to youth development, Barn Nature Center provides programs designed to educate and inspire children in unique and interactive ways.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

A. Assisting in conducting and supervising a variety of recreational activities for campers age 5-12 in a day camp setting, as well as assisting in the care and supervision of the campers assigned to their group.

B. Report any incidents or behavior problems to Education Program manager or ED.

C. Assist in organizing, collecting, and moving necessary supplies to the day camp sites.

D. Assist in organizing and supervising crafts, games, sports, and other camp activities.

E. Support other staff in animal care and animal interactions.

F. Assist in the clean-up of all activities and day camp program areas including outside space, animal zone, human zone, and other.

G. Assist in the enforcement of established rules to ensure safety of campers

H. Adhere to established schedules and work assignments.

I. Be willing to vary your schedule to properly staff before and after care.

· Be flexible and ready to meet changing work needs and demands.

· Be open to feedback and desire to grow professionally.

Physical Demands:

· Ability to lift 25pounds of weight.

· Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time.

· Must be able to participate in physical activity for various amounts of time.

Minimum Qualifications:

Must be at least 18 years of age. Have an interest or are pursuing a degree in Conservation, Environmental Sciences or course of study relating to animals or child development or business management preferred; 1 year work experience with animals, business management, and/or education. Must be comfortable with interacting with animals and children. Valid Driver’s License is preferred.
