Assistant Property Manager

Job Description

Bassett Property Management is expanding, and we are looking for a high-energy, self-motivated Assistant Property Manager to serve as a pivotal link between our office and the field. This role offers a unique blend of administrative coordination and hands-on fieldwork across our statewide residential portfolio.

We are seeking a reliable, organized, and self‑motivated Assistant Property Manager to support the daily operations of a statewide residential property portfolio. This role blends administrative coordination with hands‑on fieldwork, requiring someone who is comfortable traveling, interacting with tenants and vendors, and performing light maintenance tasks. The ideal candidate understands the rental housing industry, communicates professionally, and thrives in a fast‑paced, problem‑solving environment.

The Role: The Ultimate Connector

Property Assessments: Conducting routine inspections and documenting conditions with comprehensive photos and reports.

Turnover Coordination: Leading tenants move-ins and move-outs.

Minor Maintenance: Performing light handyman tasks such as lock changes and smoke detector installations.

Compliance: Ensuring properties meet safety standards and local housing laws.

What You’ll Need to Succeed (Required)

Professional Credentials: A current Connecticut Real Estate License is required, a broker’s license is a bonus.

Reliable Transportation: A personal vehicle and valid driver’s license for statewide travel are non-negotiable.

Communication Skills: The ability to pivot from professional reporting for owners to empathetic problem-solving for tenants.

Technical Tools: A personal laptop and the ability to work remotely.

Mechanical Aptitude: Comfort using basic tools for minor on-site fixes and the ability to lift 20–40 lbs.

Why Join Bassett Property Management?

Growth & Autonomy: Enjoy the flexible role with a supportive team and a clear career trajectory as we scale.

Competitive Compensation: Base compensation plus performance bonuses, including auto reimbursement allowance.

Dynamic Environment: This role includes a mix of office/remote work and frequent travel to properties across Connecticut. Candidates should enjoy a job that changes day to day, balancing administrative responsibilities with practical, on‑site tasks.
